About William Beeves

I appreciate that you are looking for ways to change things. Change is one of the hardest things that a person can do. It's right up there with asking for help. It just doesn't come naturally sometimes.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in Wisconsin and Minnesota. I am certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and I am a Certified Anxiety Treatment Professional. I am a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and the International Association of Trauma professionals. I earned my master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from the University of Wisconsin at Stout.

I have worked in in-home settings, private practice, outpatient therapy settings, day treatment with children and teens. I have worked with families, couples, and individuals with a range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, family and couple conflict, communication skills, infidelity, and many other topics.

Other than therapy I have had experiences that I believe make me a well rounded and more informed clinician such as being married myself for almost three decades, having two adult children, living outside of the United States for a few years as a civilian, and being an Air Force veteran with a few duty assignments outside of the US.

I believe that my role is to listen to people with an open mind. I enjoy hearing people's stories and learning about what is going well and what isn't. I really like to help people to identify what they would like to improve without judgment, and then provide them with the skills to make it happen. I also believe that people are the experts of their own lives. I like to help clients to find the skills that fit them and that work for them in their own way. My first priority is seeing a client get what they need to reach their goals in a genuine and authentic way.
